Founded in 1885 by five dairy farmers, Chalet Cheese Cooperative continues to flourish as a co-operative, owned and operated by its 21 members who are the sole suppliers of milk. They specialize in the making of limburger, brick, baby swiss, and swiss, and their smoked versions, with an emphasis on top quality and true workmanship. Fun fact: the folks at Chalet are the only producers of limburger in the United States, and their German brick with a limburger smear underscores their spirit for innovation. The quality of Chalet's baby swiss, regular swiss, smoked baby swiss and smoked swiss cheeses are recognized often, winning numerous (111!) awards in competitions from the U.S. Championship Cheese Contest to the World Championship Cheese Contest.

Jamie Fahrney
Legendary cheesemaker Al Deppeler helped usher Jamie into the industry, encouraging him to get his cheesemaking license in 1985. From there, Jamie has continued alongside Master Cheesemaker Myron Olson at Chalet Cheese Cooperative––the only U.S. plant that produces limburger cheese. Jamie holds certifications for baby Swiss and brick cheeses, an accomplishment that results from his longstanding commitment to quality.
